This song is about unrequited love. 

For some of us we can instantly hear the lyrics of this song.  This song always had such a light heartedness to me to be about something so sad. 

The Lord showed me how we can get stuck in this energy of  "longing."

The guy believed in a love (lyric) "only to realize it never really was."

The Lord described "longing" to me as bubbles in your stomach.  These bubbles give you a false sense of full.  So, when "true love" does come in you don't receive it because you feel full of  "longing bubbles" from the past (lyric) "what seems to be

is always better than nothing."

 In the song it says "Who got the power"  The person stealing your energy has the power because you remain in this false sense of full from not releasing, healing, and moving on to new love or when you do, you are in constant longing for the other situation and not able to bring relationships to their full potential because of (lyric) A Nostalgic Tale.  

This creates a cycle that is then handed down to the next generation because of longing for A Nostalgic Tale.  Remaining in the past energy of longing is 'devil energy' because God is in the Present!  That is a Gift!  

I'm sorry to bust your bubble!  But, allow God to fill up what is lacking (make room for Him) and move you to the place in your relationships where He is that fullness of JOY!

Time for healing and restoration of past hurts.
