Heart & Soul Playground

This morning the Lord asked me what I thought about these two words: 

 HEART & SOUL

heart and soul

PHRASE

If you put your heart and soul into something, you do it with a great deal of enthusiasm and energy.

[emphasis]

He was a committed man and put his heart and soul into everything he did. 

Synonyms: completely, entirely, absolutely, wholeheartedly  

He didn't mean together like, you put your "heart and soul" into something, but for me to look at the words individually, and what they can mean in a relationship.

Heart to me means:  Love (vital) (core) (essence) (feeling)

                                 Compassion (mercy)

                                 Abundance (giving) (receiving)

                                 Devotion (sympathy)

                                 Admiration (valiant)

Soul to me means:  Passion (creativity) (inspiration)

                                Spirit (personality)

                                Emotion (fundamental nature)

                                Embodiment (nobility) (faculties) 

                                Grace (redemption) (divine)

I can see how important it is to have both in a relationship, and why we should look separately at these words, even though we need them to be together.

There has to be a balance so that you are not on a relationship see-saw.

If you have all soul and no heart (Love) and all it has to offer remains in the dust.  

If you have all heart and no soul (Passion) and all it has to offer never gets off the ground.

Those words together are complete relationship bliss!  A walk in the park or playground!

I thought marriage was tough, but that's a walk in the park compared to golf.  haha~
