Happy Childhood
Happy Childhood
I had a pretty happy childhood. Mom was/is a great cook and we always had cookies (or my favorite frozen blueberries and yogurt) or something waiting for us after school.
She made the inside cozy and loving.
And then there was/is Dad! hahaha~
He was in charge of the outside fun we had.
We had a rope swing in the front, a tire swing, treehouse with zipline, ponies and horses, and later on, a pool in the back.
Before the pool something we called "The Black Thing" came into our lives. hahaha~
It was a huge rubber rectangular thing with rope handles on all four sides. At that time, it was hung on the wall in railcars/boxcars and filled with air as cargo bumpers.
I'm not sure if they have them anymore.
Daddy was always bringing things home he found or was gifted.
Anyway, we filled that thing up til it was ready to bust with air. Then, one unsuspecting smaller person (my brother) got on one end as the bigger person (me) ran as fast as they could and jumped on it with both knees (for extra buoyancy) and sent the littlest victim sailing in the air and across the yard! hahaha~
Once he got the hang of landing properly, we had a great time! haha~ No bones were broken!
After we became bored with it filled with air, we decided to fill it with water, and we renamed it "King Kong's Waterbed." hahaha~
Just one of the great childhood memories I will never forget.
Thank you Both for being wonderful Parents and Grandparents!
Happy Father's Day, Dad!
