A Relationship With Shoes
Just a thought I wrote/journaled and wanted to share. lol
A Relationship With Shoes
Balancing "Goody Two-Shoes" with "Someone Else's Shoes"
I have never been the type of person to go try on a bunch of different type of shoes for fun.
I pretty much knew the shoe I wanted and went to the store just to buy those shoes or when in a store would see the shoe I wanted right away.
I see trying on shoes, metaphorically speaking, as a flippant way of meeting people or not meeting people. You have a girl, or guy, (take it how it resonates) that goes to a shoe store and tries on shoes to see which one fits, but then has all these options in front of her or him and can't decide, and ends up just leaving the sales guy picking up 50 pairs of shoes she or he tried on and didn't choose any of them.
I do see where there needs to be a balance between the two.
You can't be so fixed on what you want that you don't take the time to see if another option is a much better fit. And, you can't be so indecisive that you don't know what you want.
Another shoe metaphor, is not to even try on a pair for fear of it hurting you. I have been very surprised by some heels being very comfortable. lol
What I just learned about myself in writing this, is that I had/have a very smug idea about myself being so decisive (black or white) that I have caused an imbalance within myself. I need to loosen up my shoe strings and allow myself to try on different pairs of shoes. Not to leave the sales guy with 50 pairs of shoes, but just to take my time and try on shoes for fun.
It's time to experience something that requires a new or different pair of shoes.
Funny how I hear the conversation (fight) between Jake and Kristy
from the (1988) movie She's Having a Baby..lol
Jake: What if the shoe was on the other foot?
Kristy: I'd go barefoot!
