Chalkboards are easy to make and great if you have a big space to fill. I made all of these, and I love them all, but the screen door framed one was made with leftover drywall, and over time has developed the best chalkboard patina. You don't have to use chalk paint, a flat black or green will work. After a full day drying just take the side of your chalk and run it over the whole thing and erase.
